This policy describes how FinAssist (finassist.tech) processes personal data.

When you register and use the service we process: • username and display name; • password hash (never stored in plain text); • financial entries: amounts, categories, descriptions; • savings goals; • AI assistant and parse messages; • feedback you submit; • language and currency preferences. We do not ask for email, phone, passport, or bank card details.
We use technical cookies for sign-in (NextAuth session) and locale (NEXT_LOCALE). No advertising or analytics trackers.
Registration uses a local image challenge. Your IP may be used to rate-limit sign-up attempts (up to 3 per hour); IPs are not stored in the database.
When you use the assistant or phrase parsing, request text and aggregated financial context (balance, monthly income/expense, goals) may be sent via OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) to an overseas language model. The main database is hosted in Russia. OpenRouter transfer is cross-border and happens only when you use AI features and have consented at registration.
Purposes: authentication, personal finance tracking, assistant, feedback. Data is kept in PostgreSQL until account deletion or consent withdrawal. Legal basis: data subject consent.
You may request access, correction, blocking, or deletion of your data, or withdraw consent. Email pablo.klimenko@gmail.com with your username.
The controller processes personal data of users of a public service. Notification to the competent supervisory authority may be required under applicable law.
